Samantha and I took the kids to Centerparcs Whinfell Forest for a few days last week. We stayed in a lakeside lodge with great views across the lake and had various "visitors" such as rabbits and ducks most mornings. We all had a great time and the kids loved every minute of it, especially the pool. Georgia has been having swimming lessons and it really shows - her confidence in the water is incredible and made this trip all the more relaxing as a result.
Well I got back from the Gartner Summit late last night - gotta love those airlines for running their last flight 30 minutes late.
It was an intense two days as I thought it might be - totally worth it however as I was able to talk to other like minded people. You can't switch off, even for a minute - when we went for dinner on Monday night (to Quaglinos, a Terence Conran restaurant no less) it was all "shop shop shop" with a little "hows the family etc" - good times though!
I'll hopefully have a more rounded summary of the conference in the next few days, right now I'm spending some short but quality time with my kids then I'll need to get to work.
Welcome to my new life - wouldn't change it for the world!
As a family we have just spent a fantastic morning lying around, watching telly (Calamity Jane - singing along to "whip crack away, whip crack away"!!), eating snacks, playing with toys and generally doing what all families should do at this time of year. Thursday is when I go back to work so we are of course just delaying the inevitable, but it's been great fun nevertheless.
