We need more people like John Smeaton

On Saturday afternoon terrorism arrived in Scotland:

Glasgow Airport was attacked by a Jeep packed with petrol and gas canisters in what is thought to be the first terrorist attack on Scottish soil. Fortunately the attack failed miserably as the Jeep did not breach the main doors. It did however burst into flames causing significant damage to the front of Terminal 1.

The two occupants tried to escape, however in true Glaswegian style, a couple of taxi drivers and a member of the public "decked" one of them. Both "terrorists" were caught, the Jeep did NOT explode and NO members of the public were injured.

To think that this happened less than 4 miles from where I live is really quite scary, but what can you do except get on with life.

Clearly terrorism is no longer something that just happens in London .....

We will not be deterred.
